Finding Photos on Your Phone
How many times each day to you take a photo on your cell phone? If you are like most people, you take hundreds of photos on your phone - we are in the moment and we want to capture that quick memory. Then, days, weeks or months later, how often do you scroll through your phone looking for a photo that you remember taking and want/need to find it? How long does it take to find it? Assuming you are at least backing up your phone photos to the cloud or DropBox or something similar, how easy is it for you to find your photos? Is it a memory that is important enough to preserve for just a few weeks or months, or do you want to keep it for a lifetime?
I was recently looking for a couple of photos that I knew I had taken on my cell phone at some point in the past. My cloud back up was reaching its limits and I was going to need to increase the storage limits, translate - cost me $$, or delete some images because it was no longer backing up everything. Since I have plenty of "in the moment" photos that really aren't that meaningful and definitely not worth paying money to keep for who knows how long or for what purpose, I decided to start deleting them. This took valuable time and more than I could really spare as I was trying to scan the pics before deleting them, but really, what a waste of time.
Sound like a lot of bother? I agree and to me time is money, and both seem in short supply these days and both need to be prioritized! The take away here is, if you have any photos that are of value to you, you need to 1) print them and store them in an album or something that makes them relatively easy to locate, and 2) have some type of system for backing up your photos, and it should include some type of cataloging system.
Ultimately, when you really want to capture and preserve those important and special times, hire a professional photographer. We will ensure your printed images are archival and we keep backups of your images, for varying lengths of time, but chances are we have a system and can locate those really important images.
