Benefits of a Full Service Professional Photographer
What services would be valuable to you when working with a professional photographer? Maybe this is not something you think about because hiring a professional photographer is not something you do frequently.
Recently, a client who came to me for professional headshots, stopped by to review her images and while here she saw a beautiful 24x30 framed portrait completed for another client that was awaiting delivery. As she was sitting there, she looked at a framed print on my wall and it was like a light bulb going off for her. She said, "You know, I haven't even ordered any prints and I want some." At that point, I showed her different options of sizes, finishes, and frames. She was amazed! She had been so preoccupied when she came for her session and just focused on her immediate need, that she totally missed all the sample portraits hanging in my studio. She really liked one particular background and she wants to come back with her family to get family portraits made. And she realized that when she graduated, she never got a graduation picture made, so she wants a picture of her in her cap and gown a she wants a framed gallery wrap of that image. She was so excited!
This reminded me that just because I offer a number of services, doesn't mean that you as a client will be aware of these services. So let me take the opportunity here to list them.
1. Complimentary Consultation via phone and in person, in studio, to walk you through the process and show you all the print options available. Viewing the printed albums and framed portraits in person really gives you the opportunity to appreciate what is available and to see actual sizes in person. And, with COVID, we can make this a virtual visit if that is your preference. We talk about what your goals are for your session, who is to be photographed, what is the occasion if any, where you want your session to be - in studio or on location. What printed products you envision for your portraits - a folio box of matted prints, a framed wall portrait or grouping of 3-5 images, an album, gift prints, etc. Yes, I can get your final images framed for you, I have a nice variety of options, and when you get them they will be ready to hang on your wall.
2. Photography session - in studio or on location. If in studio, we have several backdrop options that we will discuss as your consultation session. Many clients want an environmental look and I can recommend a variety of parks and areas or you may have a favorite location that your family enjoys and has meaning to your family.
3. Ordering session - This is always exciting when you get to view your images for the first time! You'll watch a slide show of curated images and then together we'll go back and look at the final images one at a time, and let you choose your favorites. From your favorites we'll narrow it down to your final selections based on your desired print options. Your final selected images will be professionally retouched if needed, to make sure everything looks marvelous.
4. Finished Product - I place your order with my trusted professional color lab where they are printed on archival media. When your beautiful finished portraits, album, or folio box arrives, I check it over, ensure everything is correct and looking outstanding. Then I will deliver to you and if desired, I will even help hang it for you.
