Photos in the Texas Heat and Humidity!
If you live in Texas, or most anywhere in the South or Southwest, then you know what I'm talking about. I wish I was just talking about the lazy, hazy days of summer that I can remember as a child laying in the grass in my backyard under a huge oak shade tree, feeling a hint of coolness in the summer breeze. Well, that ain't happening this summer, not in Texas anyway. Looks like we are on another path to break our string of 100+ degree days. We've had a few over the past however many years. People still talk about the string in June of 1980, and someone last night was talking about another string just a few years ago. I guess all that tells us is that we will survive the summer of 2022 and we will add it to our stories of hot summers in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
What does that have to do with photography you ask? Well, it means that it is really a challenge to do any photography sessions outdoors right now. That is unless you don't mind melting right there in front of the camera! Just ask Kylar. He was in town from Virginia visiting with his nana and she wanted to capture some cute photos of him before he headed back to Virginia. We got the photos, but bless his little heart (yes, I am a true Texan), he was a trooper but he was hot and just did not want to give us any smiles. Well, we actually got a couple, sort of. He must have been wondering why these 2 women were doing this to him! Despite his lack of smiles, he is really a cutie pie and we will look forward to a future opportunity this fall when temperatures are more bearable. And hey, you're only 11 months once, regardless of the weather!
I'll be looking forward to taking your family photos too!
