A Quick Love Story
Are you a sucker for great love stories? Well, I have one for you.
A colleague recently asked me if I could be available to photograph him proposing to his girlfriend. Are you kidding? I love photographing surprise proposals! What a special time and what an honor to be a part of such a special occasion!
Curran and Kristen have been dating for a few years and he recently relocated to Dallas where she is in training as an OB/GYN resident at UT Southwestern. They had an appointment scheduled at the Dallas Arboretum to tour some of their space as a possible wedding venue. So Curran knew Kristen really likes flowers and enjoys the Arboretum so he thought how special it would be to propose to her in such a beautiful environment.
And let me tell you, Curran wanted it to be PERFECT! He thought of so many details. He had alerted the person they were touring the venue with about his plans. He had visited the Arboretum in advance and scouted out the location where he wanted to propose so he could coordinate with me. He had notified immediate family and friends (locally and in their home state of Missouri) and planned for some of them to be in Dallas to come for a celebration later in the afternoon - after the proposal.
He bought a new shirt and checked with me to make sure it would look nice and be suitable for photos. Funny thing, that was one of the clues that tipped Kristen off that he just might be proposing that day! And clearly, Kristen knows her guy and she of course said, "YES!" And don't you just love the way they are looking at each other!
CONGRATULATIONS CURRAN AND KRISTEN!
