Wonderful Neighbors and Neighborhood!

I just wanted to give a big shout out to a neighborhood just a few minutes south of me - Mira Lagos/Grand Peninsula and the folks who live there.  I have a fair number of clients who live in these neighborhoods and additionally, I photograph for the neighborhood magazine.  So surely I am an honorary resident!  

I wanted to write this little blog post to just brag on the folks in these two neighborhoods.  Without exception, every single family that we have met and photographed have been the nicest people.  Clearly we have connected with some more than others, but regardless it has been such a pleasure to meet everyone.  A family that I recently photographed has two sons - one in middle school at Danny Jones Middle School, and the other is a sophomore at Lake Ridge High School.  On a recent afternoon, I met Toni, the mom, at Lake Ridge High School to photograph her son Joey who was practicing throwing the shot put on that particular afternoon.  He also plays football for Lake Ridge.  Its been a few years since my kids were in high school, so I had forgotten the kind of energy surrounding high school kids when you get a lot of them together.  And also impressive was how many students were out there after school participating in extra curricular activities (track, baseball, tennis to name a few).  How great is that!  And not only was there a great camaraderie among the students, but with the coaches, teachers, and parents as well. 

It was really refreshing and encouraging to me to see and experience all this positivity in action.  With all the challenges in the world these days and all the negative reports on the news, it can be easy to lose sight of the good things all around us.  So I just wanted to take a quick moment to be thankful for all the parents and teachers in our world who are doing a great job training up the next generation and you can find a large number of them in these great neighborhoods called Mira Lagos and Grand Peninsula in South Grand Prairie.
