Get Your Family Portrait Session
You may be wondering what's involved in a family photography session and how do you get started?
Schedule Phone Consultation:
The best way to begin is to schedule a phone consultation where you and I have chance to get to know one another and get an idea what you kind of session you would like. We'll want to determine if you want on location or in the studio. Sometimes clients have a special location in mind but many times they don't and that's just fine. I'll need to know how many people you want to include in your session and who they are such as mom, dad, three children, two boys and one girl, ages, etc. Do you want to include any extended family? What is your style? Is your home formal or casual? Have you thought about what end products you would like to have? A beautiful wall portrait, a wall gallery of a grouping of 3 or 4 images, an album, gift prints, etc.
In Person Meet and Greet:
Next step would be to come by my studio so we can meet in person and finalize plans for your photography session. You will be able to see and touch finished products so you can select or narrow down what finished products you will purchase. This will help me to plan out your session so we get the orientation and the images that you have envisioned. We'll confirm your session date and time and payment for the session is made at this time. Clients say this is very helpful because they had no idea of the variety of products available and it is very helpful to see finished sizes in person.
Photo Session:
I will provide you with information on preparing for your session including clothing selections. The length of your photography session will depend on several factors, including the number of people to be photographed and if there are multiple family units. Children add many variables and can be unpredictable, but know that flexibility is key and we will do everything possible to ensure you are pleased with your portraits.
Ordering Session:
Lastly, you will return to my studio within 7-10 days to view your images and make your selections. You will have the opportunity to send me a photograph of a room or rooms where you plan to hang your wall portrait so you can view your images projected in your room. This will also help us get the best size for your space. It is possible that what you thought you wanted to order may change once you see your finished images and that is fine. Often, clients find that they want additional products once they see their actual images.
Delivery:
Your finished prints/products can take 3-5 weeks to be received from the professional lab after the order is submitted. Albums and framed canvases can take the longest. I will be happy to deliver your finished products to you and will even help you hang them. All that is left is for you and your family to enjoy them!
