Well, I am getting off to a rather slow start on writing a blog! -Must do better! Have been a little overwhelmed at my day job the last couple of weeks with not too much energy left over for other pursuits. I'm encouraged by the cooler, even though somewhat humid air today. Gives the hope of an autumn in North Texas after all!
Randy and I attended a banquet last evening for the Pregnancy Resource Center of Grand Prairie. This organization does tremendous work for young moms in the community who come to them looking for help and answers for how can they manage their unplanned pregnancy. We have been supporters of this organization for a number of years and are continually impressed by the amazing work and services they provide, predominantly with volunteers. We were especially touched last night by hearing the stories from 4 young moms who came to the Center and were welcomed with open and loving arms, given information and education, had practical needs met along with emotional and spiritual needs, and provided support throughout their pregnancies. I had the privilege earlier this year of photographing a women's lunch sponsored by the PRC and then a triple shower for 3 expectant moms held at our church by the Embrace Grace ministry - also a resource of the PRC. I am so thankful that organizations exist like the PRC to provide the kind of support needed at such a critical time in the lives of these vulnerable, young women who choose to give the life they are carrying a chance.
